Red XIII’s Battle Style and Abilities
Red XIII has an “aggressively defensive” battle style and a unique “Vengeance Mode” that increases his attack power and speed.
According to Square Enix’s official blog post, Red XIII’s battle style in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is more “aggressively defensive” compared to other characters in the party. The character has a special ability called “Vengeance Mode” which players can activate during battles to enhance Red XIII’s attack power and movement speed. The mode’s gauge fills up when Red XIII guards against enemy attacks, and players can activate it anytime as long as there is Vengeance left in the gauge.
New Mini-Games and Story Content
Fans can look forward to new mini-games and story content in the upcoming Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. The game is set to launch on February 29, 2024, for PS5.

Square Enix unveiled more information about Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth during Tokyo Game Show 2023. A gameplay preview showcased Cloud, Barret, Tifa, Aerith, and Red XIII exploring grasslands outside Midgar. The preview also demonstrated how Red XIII rides chocobos and fights during enemy encounters.
Red XIII’s Battle Abilities
Red XIII has various battle abilities that can be activated using ATB charges. Some of these abilities include Sidewinder, Sentinel Stance, Stardust Ray, and Crescent Claw. Additionally, Red XIII has several Limit Breaks such as Bloodfang and Howling Moon, which can be used when the Limit Break gauge is full. The character also has Synergy Abilities, including Planetary Roar with Aerith, Savage Assault with Cloud, and Overfang with Barret.
Release Date and Expectations
